Welcome to Affinity Counselling & Psychosocial Recovery Coach

When you sign up for our counselling services, "Counselling Sessions" or "Sessions" refers to the services provided.

We kindly ask that you accept these terms.

Before engaging with our services, please read these terms carefully. By booking a counselling session or a free consultation call, you agree to be bound by these terms, even if you haven't signed them yet. These terms will apply to all future bookings without needing to be accepted again.

MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

Affinity offers counselling sessions and general information using evidence-based techniques. If you are experiencing an emergency or critical symptoms, please seek immediate help.

Risk of self-harm or to others, Severe chest pain, Heart attack, Loss of consciousness, Severe bleeding, Stroke, breathing difficulty, Loss of normal limb function or tingling sensation, feeling unsteady or clumsy when walking, Constant pain that has not changed in 24 hours, Unexplained weight loss

If you have these feelings or symptoms, seek medical help by calling 000 in Australia, contacting your general practitioner or visiting the hospital's emergency department. If you're unsure about our services, seek medical advice.

At Affinity, I am a qualified counsellor and a registered Australian Counselling Association (MACA) member. Please note that I am acting solely as a counsellor and not as a doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist, or any other licensed or registered professional. Any advice I provide is not intended to replace the advice of these professionals.

  6. Australian law: Whilst we are very happy to see clients from all over the world, please be aware that AFFINITY Counselling is based in Australia, and this agreement is governed by the laws of Australia

SERVICES

Details of all our Services are available on our Website. Our Services are provided online (Telehealth Session).

ELIGIBILITY

By booking the Services via the Website or otherwise engaging us to provide you with the Services, you:

Agree to be bound by these terms.

Where applicable, are authorised to use the credit, debit card or bank account to purchase the Services.

If you're under 18, you need your parent or legal guardian's consent to use the Services.

CONSULTATION CALL

We're happy to give you a free 10-minute call or text to determine whether our services are right for you.

After our consultation, if we feel that our services may not be the best fit for you, we reserve the right to decline to provide them.

SESSION FORMATS AND REQUIREMENTS

Our 60-minute sessions are all about getting to know you and how we can best help. Before booking regular sessions, we'll need to have at least one initial session. We offer 60-minute sessions as our standard format to make sure we have enough time to provide the best possible service tailored to your needs.

BOOKING A COUNSELLING SESSION

Hey there! To book your first session, simply fill in your details on our website or use the calendar to choose your preferred date and time. After that, we'll reach out to confirm your scheduled initial session.

By accepting your initial session, you're ready to enter a contract with us. We'll provide the services you've ordered in exchange for your payment. A contract is formed when you receive an email confirming your order is being processed.

BOOKING POLICY

After accepting your initial session or making a booking request, you will receive an email confirming your session details and a text reminder 48 hours in advance. Payment is due within 48 hours of booking or accepting your initial session, or it may be cancelled.

TELEHEALTH COUNSELLING SESSION

Our services will be delivered through a third-party app like Teams or Zoom. You won't be charged extra for using the app. Please note that we're not responsible for any issues with the app. You are responsible for ensuring that your computer and internet service are suitable for the Telehealth Counselling Session.

RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLING AN APPOINTMENT

Please provide at least 48 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee and receive a full refund of your deposit. Cancelling within 48 hours will result in forfeiting your funds.

PROVIDE INFORMATION AND LIAISON

Please provide all necessary information and attend scheduled counselling sessions. All information must be true and accurate.

COMMUNICATION AND ACCESS

Please ensure you have a computer and stable internet for the services. Also, make sure to arrive on time for counselling sessions, as we may be unable to adjust appointment times for late arrivals.

NO RECORDING OF SESSIONS PERMITTED

When you attend a session or use our services, please don't have anyone else join the session, record it, or share the services without asking us first. Thank you for your understanding!

COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS

Do not violate any laws or regulations, including privacy laws and industry codes.

Do not engage in any activities that could cause Affinity Counselling to violate any laws.

Do not disobey any directives from government departments or authorities.

Do not infringe on the rights of any third party or breach any confidentiality obligations.

PAYMENT

Please ensure that you pay the fees as specified. We may use third-party payment providers, such as PayPal or a BSB account.

COLLECTION NOTICE, PRIVACY AND INFORMED CONSENT

We collect personal information to provide our services, contact you, and answer your questions. Our Privacy Policy [link] explains how we use, disclose, and store your information. By agreeing to these terms, you are bound by our Privacy Policy. You must not share, sell, or claim ownership of any recordings you receive.

CONFIDENTIALITY

We won't disclose your confidential information except in specific situations, such as when required by law or to protect yourself or someone from serious harm. We may also share information in emergencies with your consent.

Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement for convenience by providing 10 business.
